School Committee

The Greek School of Manchester Constitution clearly states that “The charity trustees (School Committee) shall manage the affairs of the CIO and may for that purpose exercise all the powers of the CIO.”

With that in mind, the School Committee will be responsible for:

- writing and maintaining the policies that govern and guide the School

- approving and monitoring the School budget

- appointing and managing the Headteacher and all teaching and supporting staff

The members of the School Committee will exercise their powers and perform their functions in ways that further the purposes of the School as these are set out both in the Greek School of Manchester Constitution and in the annual School plans agreed by its members.

The School Committee members (Charity Trustees) are:

- Mrs Eve Koutidou, President.

Eve Koutidou is the President of the School Committee. She was born in Veroia, Greece and has been living in Manchester since 2006. Eve studied International & European Studies at the University of Piraeus and came to the UK in 2005 to obtain her MA in International Security & Terrorism. While studying for her Postgraduate Degree, Eve worked as a teacher at the Greek Community School of Nottingham. Since moving to Manchetser, she has been working at Manchester University Hospitals in various capacities, most recently in Estates & Facilities Operations. Eve is married and has two children aged 6 and 2.

- Mrs Chrysa Walker, Treasurer.

Chrysa Walker is the Treasurer of the School Committee. She was born in Patras, Greece and has been in Manchester since 1998. Chrysa has studied Band Musicianship in the University of Salford followed by an MSc in Computation at the University of Manchester.

Chrysa works as a Senior Project Manager in the IT sector, is married and has a 4 year old boy.

- Dr Nikolaos Konstantinou, General Secretary.

Nikos Konstantinou is the General Secretary of the School.  He was born in Lamia, Greece, and lives in Manchester since 2015, now working as a Senior Software Engineer.  Between 2015 and 2021 he was with the University of Manchester, initially as a Research Fellow and then as a Lecturer (teaching-focused).  Before that, he held a variety of technical management and research roles in Greece.  His research has resulted so far in 1 book and 38 refereed publications.  He has co-founded a startup, helping data users obtain insights from data.  His PhD and BSc (Hons) are from the National Technical University of Athens, School of Electrical and Computer Engineering.  

He is married, and a father of two.

The School Committee members are elected / appointed at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) by the members of the Greek School of Manchester for a 12 month term.
